Serves as the focal point for IOM Niger's labour mobility and human development portfolio, implementing the IDEE project and coordinating partners, project staff, reporting and donor engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to project implementation in line with donor-approved documents, contract terms and IOM financial and donor procedures
  • Monitor the general operational plan and annual operational plans requested by the donor
  • Coordinate project teams across the four implementation regions
  • Liaise with NGOs and civil society organisations on vocational training and start-up development activities
  • Research labour migration trends and draft briefs, proposals and written materials for resource mobilisation and strategic engagement
  • Support project development, project management and fundraising activities linked to the Labour and Human Development portfolio
  • Facilitate external communication on project visibility, activities and results
  • Undertake duty travel to provide technical guidance, support monitoring and compile field monitoring reports

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Migration Studies, Law, Public Policy, Development Studies, Political Science or a related field with two years of relevant experience, or university degree in the same fields with four years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience in migration management and knowledge of migration policy development
  • Previous experience working in Labour Mobility and Human Development
  • Experience in project management with financial and supervisory oversight
  • Knowledge of LHD-specific priorities relevant to the project
  • Good knowledge of human and financial resources management
  • Fluency in English and French
