Responsibilities

  • Support countries to assess and institutionalize readiness for resilient recovery and Build Back Better
  • Build partnerships with governments, international organizations and private sector actors for Sendai Framework Priority 4
  • Coordinate the International Recovery Platform Secretariat and support its Steering Committee
  • Support Member States through regional offices on recovery governance, planning and financing mechanisms
  • Conduct research, data analysis and policy development on post-disaster recovery and resilience
  • Prepare reports, analytical notes, publications, meeting documents and presentations
  • Lead or participate in field missions and coordinate budget, funding and project reporting activities

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in international relations, public administration, management, economics, social sciences, law, environmental studies or a related area, or first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
  • At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management
  • Experience managing programmes in cooperation with governmental structures
  • Experience in disaster risk reduction or resilience-related programming or policy work related to the Sendai Framework
  • English and Japanese are required
