Responsibilities
- Support countries to assess and institutionalize readiness for resilient recovery and Build Back Better
- Build partnerships with governments, international organizations and private sector actors for Sendai Framework Priority 4
- Coordinate the International Recovery Platform Secretariat and support its Steering Committee
- Support Member States through regional offices on recovery governance, planning and financing mechanisms
- Conduct research, data analysis and policy development on post-disaster recovery and resilience
- Prepare reports, analytical notes, publications, meeting documents and presentations
- Lead or participate in field missions and coordinate budget, funding and project reporting activities
Requirements
- Advanced university degree in international relations, public administration, management, economics, social sciences, law, environmental studies or a related area, or first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
- At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management
- Experience managing programmes in cooperation with governmental structures
- Experience in disaster risk reduction or resilience-related programming or policy work related to the Sendai Framework
- English and Japanese are required
