Responsibilities
- Conduct desk reviews and literature research on disaster risk reduction and related thematic areas
- Compile, review and synthesise data, reports, policies and technical documentation
- Support analysis of Sendai Framework implementation and links with SDGs and climate agendas
- Prepare background papers, briefing notes, concept notes, analytical summaries and research inputs
- Support analytical products and knowledge outputs for regional initiatives
- Contribute technical inputs on resilience, climate action and sustainable development in the Arab region
Requirements
- Advanced degree in disaster risk reduction, public policy, international development, economics, environmental studies, climate change, geography or a related field, or first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
- At least 5 years of research and analytical experience in disaster risk reduction, resilience, climate change, sustainable development or related areas
- Experience in national policy development related to disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation or sustainable development
- Fluency in spoken and written Arabic and English is required
