Responsibilities

  • Support development of a regional probabilistic model for multiple hazards including wildfires
  • Review regional, national and local progress on Sendai Framework implementation and disaster risk-informed sustainable development
  • Contribute probabilistic risk estimates for baseline and future scenarios
  • Develop methodologies to assess the cost of inaction using retrospective or prospective analyses
  • Analyse climate, exposure and vulnerability conditions relevant to wildfire and multi-hazard risk
  • Engage with technical stakeholders and peer reviewers on probabilistic risk metrics

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in engineering, sustainable development, social sciences, disaster risk management or a related discipline, or first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
  • At least fifteen years of experience in disaster risk reduction and development of regional or global reports
  • Experience in probabilistic multi-hazard risk modelling including wildfires
  • Fluency in English and Spanish
