Planning and Monitoring Specialist

Strengthens UNICEF Burundi’s planning and monitoring systems as the country office prepares its next programme, coordinating results frameworks, situation analysis, performance evidence and capacity building so teams can adapt delivery and remain accountable for outcomes for children.

Department: Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Section

• Coordinate country-office planning processes and strengthen coherence across programme sections
• Develop and maintain the integrated monitoring, evaluation and research plan
• Monitor the situation of children and support evidence-based programme assessment
• Track programme performance and promote adaptive management and accountability for results
• Strengthen monitoring capacity among UNICEF teams and implementing counterparts
• Coordinate research, evaluation, data use and management reporting across the country office
• Build partnerships and networks with government, development partners and United Nations agencies

• Advanced university degree in social sciences, statistics, planning, international development or a related field
• Five years of relevant experience in planning, monitoring and evaluation, programme management, results-based management, data analysis or related work
• Fluency in French
• Intermediate proficiency in English

• Temporary appointment lasting eight months
