Partnerships Officer (Resource Mobilization)

Strengthens FAO partnerships and resource mobilisation in Africa, especially with non-state actors and private-sector entities, by advising regional offices, monitoring agreements and developing partnership tools and materials.

Department: Regional Office for Africa

• Implement FAO partnership strategies with civil society organizations and private-sector actors at regional or national level
• Develop strategic linkages between non-state actors and FAO regional initiatives
• Guide decentralized offices on corporate partnership requirements
• Prepare donor policy briefs and recommendations for senior management
• Monitor partnership agreements and report comprehensively to senior management
• Explore new strategic partnership and resource-mobilisation opportunities
• Coordinate resource-mobilisation and partnership officers across the region and headquarters divisions
• Develop tools and capacity-building materials to strengthen regional partnership capacity

• Advanced university degree in international relations, public relations, political science, international cooperation for development, development economics or a related field
• Seven years of relevant experience in international cooperation for development, donor aid programmes, government, fundraising, negotiations, public relations, advocacy or related areas
• Working knowledge of English at proficiency level C
• Intermediate knowledge of another official FAO language

• Position is located in the Regional Office for Africa in Accra
• Extension of fixed-term appointments is based on certified performance and availability of funds
