News Writing / Reporting - Public Information Intern - News and Content - Chinese

The intern produces Chinese-language news and multimedia for UN audiences, drafting and translating stories, checking facts, conducting interviews and research, editing short videos and supporting newsroom planning, social engagement and field reporting from New York or remotely.

Department: Chinese Unit — News and Content Branch

• Draft Chinese news from official UN source material
• Translate English scripts and captions into Chinese
• Proofread and fact-check Chinese editorial content
• Research stories and contribute to editorial planning
• Film and edit short-form social video
• Conduct interviews and support field reporting

• Final-year undergraduate student, graduate student, or graduate in communications, journalism, international relations, public administration, English or translation studies
• Computer literacy in word-processing and spreadsheet software
• Fluency in English and Chinese

• Unpaid internship lasting four to six months; designed for full-time in-person work but may be adjusted to part-time or remote
