Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor operational, administrative and financial aspects of project implementation
  • Keep the supervisor informed on project status, gaps and actions to improve implementation
  • Develop and adjust work plans, budgets, monitoring and evaluation tools and standard operating procedures
  • Coordinate collection, verification and analysis of data and project information
  • Prepare and disseminate project reports in line with IOM and donor requirements
  • Liaise with donors, partners, UN agencies, local authorities, stakeholders and government counterparts
  • Plan, organize and deliver capacity building for IOM staff, government, civil society partners and communities
  • Supervise project staff and provide training and technical guidance

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in political or social sciences, international relations, development studies, migration studies, human rights, law, women's and gender studies, economic development or related fields with two years of relevant professional experience, or master's degree in the same fields
  • Experience liaising with governmental authorities, national or international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations including community-based organizations and women's groups
  • Experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups
  • In-depth knowledge of migration-related subject areas dealt with by IOM
  • Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming
  • Knowledge of financial rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of women's economic empowerment and gender inequality issues in Solomon Islands and the wider Pacific Region
  • Fluency in English and Pidjin
