Responsibilities

  • Conduct rapid and post-disaster WASH needs assessments with national and provincial partners
  • Plan, implement and report emergency WASH supply distribution against quality and accountability standards
  • Contribute WASH reporting against UNICEF Core Commitments for Children and humanitarian performance criteria
  • Coordinate partners, supply teams and finance service providers for WASH supplies and Cash Plus support
  • Monitor implementation through field visits, technical assistance and disaggregated beneficiary data collection
  • Engage local authorities and community leaders to support participation and ownership of WASH solutions
  • Provide inputs to WASH in Emergency working groups on response plans, progress and assessments

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with at least six years of relevant experience, or master's degree with at least three years of relevant experience, in public health, environmental science, water and sanitation engineering, emergency programme management or a related field
  • Experience supporting UNICEF, UN agencies, government counterparts or NGOs in WASH programming, including community-based approaches
  • Ability to provide hands-on technical guidance, mentoring and supportive supervision for WASH services
  • Analytical, writing and communication skills to produce technical reports, practical guidance and learning with diverse stakeholders
  • Field work experience, including community mobilisation approaches on WASH
  • Knowledge of sanitation and hygiene, school WASH, water supply project management, integrated water resource management, behaviour-change communication, monitoring and evaluation, and UNICEF WASH policies for disasters and environment
  • Fluency in Vietnamese
