Senior Shelter Associate

Supports UNHCR shelter and infrastructure assessments, construction monitoring, coordination and technical documentation for affected populations in Lebanon.

Department: Shelter Unit

• Assist shelter needs assessments in coordination with protection, programme, WASH, administration and supply colleagues
• Monitor construction and infrastructure projects for compliance with UNHCR and national standards
• Support shelter strategy, beneficiary selection and coordination with government, NGOs and sector partners
• Draft bid documents, technical specifications, bills of quantities and construction drawings

• Four years of relevant experience with high school diploma, or two years with bachelor degree or higher
• Experience in shelter and emergency response in temporary settings and urban areas
• Experience in design, tender preparation and monitoring of construction and infrastructure projects in compliance with humanitarian standards
• Knowledge of English and the UN working language of the duty station if not English
