Responsibilities
- Manage the Rule of Law Section and its work on justice-sector reform
- Oversee legislative review and monitoring of rule-of-law commitments
- Coordinate capacity building and technical assistance for courts, prosecutors and justice actors
- Lead annual activity planning and budget development for the rule-of-law project
- Support human resources planning and programme strategy within the Human Dimension Department
- Coordinate with international and domestic organisations on justice-sector initiatives
- Integrate project evaluation and impact assessment into policy and project work
- Supervise senior professionals and national legal and monitoring staff
Requirements
- Second-level university degree in law or international human rights, or first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
- At least six years of relevant progressively responsible professional experience, or eight years with a first-level degree
- At least three years of relevant management-level experience
- Experience managing or implementing criminal justice, human rights or justice programmes in post-conflict, transitional or developing countries
- Experience in justice-sector programme development, political analysis, reporting and briefings
- Professional fluency in English with strong oral and written communication skills
- Computer literacy with practical experience using Microsoft applications
- Candidates must not be nationals or permanent residents of the duty-station country
