Responsibilities

  • Advise leadership and governance bodies on legal matters
  • Establish the inaugural General Counsel function
  • Interpret international, personnel and commercial law
  • Negotiate agreements and legal instruments
  • Develop policy and assess legal implications
  • Represent the organization in litigation and external forums
  • Coordinate with NATO legal offices and member nations

Requirements

  • University law degree with professional qualifications and licences
  • At least eight years of legal experience
  • At least five years in an international multidisciplinary environment
  • International law and personnel-law expertise
  • Advanced English and beginner French
  • Nationality of a NATO member country
