Finance Officer

Manages financial reporting and reimbursement-based funding for UNICEF’s United States donor portfolio. The role analyses grant transactions, prepares payment drawdowns, monitors receivables, strengthens controls and advises offices on compliant grant and donor financial management.

Department: Grant Management Unit, Division of Financial and Administrative Management

• Monitor United States grant transactions, revenue, receivables and receipts in VISION
• Coordinate correction of grant-recording errors with the Global Shared Services Centre
• Analyse quarterly expenditure reports and prepare payment drawdown files
• Submit and certify drawdowns through the United States Payments Management System
• Prepare donor financial reports, certified statements and receipt summaries
• Review outstanding balances and recommend corrective action
• Advise offices on grant management, donor conditions and financial rules
• Strengthen internal controls and contribute to dashboards and system improvements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, financial management or another related financial field
• At least two years of increasingly responsible experience in accounting, preferably donor financial reporting and grant financial management
• Strong knowledge of VISION and SAP
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills covering pivot tables, formulas, validation, lookups and data modelling
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using SharePoint
• English proficiency
