Responsibilities
- Verify invoices and documents submitted by suppliers and service providers
- Ensure supporting documents and required signatures are obtained before finalising accounting vouchers
- Process approved payments to suppliers and staff in a timely manner
- Prepare monthly accounting reports and attach supporting documentation for review and certification
- Reconcile outstanding supplier accounts and bank accounts each month
- Maintain financial instruction archives and appropriate internal controls
- Maintain filing systems for accounting vouchers and financial documentation
- Liaise with IOM offices in Togo and Benin on daily payments and programme implementation efficiency
- Coordinate accounting matters with finance colleagues and identify process-control improvements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related discipline with three years of relevant professional experience, or secondary education with at least five years of relevant professional experience
- Ability to interact with IOM units and departments to gather relevant information
- Ability to communicate clearly and coherently
- Ability to apply specialised finance knowledge effectively
- Ability to work with suppliers and service providers under IOM procedures to obtain quality and cost-effective solutions
- Fluency in French
