Responsibilities

  • Verify invoices and documents submitted by suppliers and service providers
  • Ensure supporting documents and required signatures are obtained before finalising accounting vouchers
  • Process approved payments to suppliers and staff in a timely manner
  • Prepare monthly accounting reports and attach supporting documentation for review and certification
  • Reconcile outstanding supplier accounts and bank accounts each month
  • Maintain financial instruction archives and appropriate internal controls
  • Maintain filing systems for accounting vouchers and financial documentation
  • Liaise with IOM offices in Togo and Benin on daily payments and programme implementation efficiency
  • Coordinate accounting matters with finance colleagues and identify process-control improvements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related discipline with three years of relevant professional experience, or secondary education with at least five years of relevant professional experience
  • Ability to interact with IOM units and departments to gather relevant information
  • Ability to communicate clearly and coherently
  • Ability to apply specialised finance knowledge effectively
  • Ability to work with suppliers and service providers under IOM procedures to obtain quality and cost-effective solutions
  • Fluency in French
