Responsibilities

  • Plan and supervise construction, repair, maintenance and installation works across UN Headquarters facilities
  • Manage staff relocations, office moves and workplace plans in coordination with requesting departments
  • Assess service requests, set priorities, issue work orders and follow up on complaints
  • Prepare construction drawings, technical specifications, bills of quantity and cost estimates
  • Review contractor offers and supervise works for compliance with contracts, codes, schedules, budgets and safety rules
  • Conduct final inspections and commissioning while securing warranties, manuals and project records
  • Prepare procurement requisitions, evaluate technical offers and support vendor briefings
  • Develop facilities budgets, expenditure reports, space-use schedules and service-efficiency improvements

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Seven years of facilities management, space planning, engineering, architecture or related experience, reduced to five years with a first-level university degree or higher
  • Experience using architectural design software such as AutoCAD or a similar programme
  • English at UN Level II in reading, writing, listening and speaking
  • Authorisation to work for the United Nations at the duty station
