Engineering Technician

Supports UNSOH engineering asset management and property accountability through inspections, lifecycle controls, inventory reconciliation, technical reporting and supervision of asset-management activities.

Department: Engineering and Facilities Management Section

• Plan and supervise engineering asset-management activities
• Assess engineering equipment, buildings and infrastructure condition
• Draft technical and condition reports and issue work assignments
• Investigate asset discrepancies and recommend corrective actions
• Coordinate receipt, inspection and technical acceptance of engineering assets
• Supervise registration, tagging, transfer and handover of engineering assets
• Conduct inventory reconciliation and follow up on missing or discrepant items

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• At least eight years of relevant experience in engineering, logistics, inventory control or asset and property management
• Experience in engineering asset lifecycle management
• Experience using Umoja or a comparable enterprise resource planning system for asset records and related processes
• English is required

• Temporary job opening available for three months
• Appointment depends on approval of funding and staffing structures
• Selected candidate is expected to deploy temporarily for three months
