Counter-Terrorism Officer

Supports OSCE counter-terrorism programming through policy advice, portfolio coordination, project development and technical assistance for participating States and OSCE structures.

Department: Action against Terrorism Unit

• Develop, implement and evaluate OSCE counter-terrorism programmes and projects
• Monitor thematic counter-terrorism developments and identify gaps, trends and possible responses
• Coordinate portfolio activities with OSCE institutions, field operations and external stakeholders
• Provide expert advice and reporting to OSCE bodies, supervisors and participating States
• Facilitate technical assistance and cooperation among participating States
• Mobilise extra-budgetary funds and identify synergies with project partners

• First-level university degree in international relations, political science, criminology, international law, human rights, terrorism studies, security studies or a closely related field
• Minimum seven years of relevant professional experience in political affairs, or five years with a relevant second-level degree
• Professional fluency in English with excellent oral and written communication skills
• Nationality of an OSCE participating State and nomination by the relevant authority for secondment

• Open to secondment only; all costs are borne by the nominating authority
• Seconded staff are not entitled to OSCE Board and Lodging Allowance
• Maximum period of service in this post is 10 years
• Appointment is subject to medical clearance
