Consultant to Prepare the Gender Snapshot Report for Africa

Develops a continental Africa Gender Snapshot report by compiling gender-related SDG data, assessing data gaps, validating country information and producing analysis and visual outputs for UN Women and regional partners.

• Compile and harmonise gender-related SDG indicator data from UN agency databases and agreed sources
• Develop country data profiles for all African countries
• Facilitate validation with national statistical offices and incorporate updated data where available
• Assess data availability, quality, indicator coverage, disaggregation, timeliness and comparability across Africa
• Analyse progress towards gender equality under Agenda 2030 and identify trends, inequalities and areas of stagnation
• Produce an analytical Africa Gender Snapshot report aligned with SDG, Agenda 2063 and Women Count standards
• Support policy-relevant data visualisations and publication-ready outputs with communications teams

• Master's degree or equivalent in gender, statistics, economics or a related field, or a first-level university degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
• Minimum 10 years of experience in gender equality and women's empowerment research
• Experience analysing data and working with regional data sets and reports for international agencies
• Experience working on Agenda 2030 and SDG indicators
• Fluency in English

• Deliverables are allocated across 40 workdays covering inception, data compilation, draft report and final publication-ready report
