Responsibilities
- Draft reports and legislative materials on e-commerce, paperless trade and end-to-end trade digitalisation
- Compile and consolidate UNCITRAL e-commerce texts and related guidance material
- Provide technical assistance and legal advice to States and stakeholders on UNCITRAL e-commerce texts
- Support consistent interpretation and understanding of UNCITRAL texts among practitioners and organisations
- Collect, analyse and disseminate case law through the CLOUT system
- Contribute to capacity-building, webinars, training sessions and UNCITRAL Days
- Monitor legal, regulatory and practical developments affecting e-commerce implementation
- Coordinate with technical assistance partners and UNCITRAL secretariat staff
Requirements
- Advanced university degree in law with specialisation in commercial law, comparative law, private international law or a related field, or a first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
- At least two years of experience in commercial law, including one year at international level
- Good legal writing and analysis skills
- Research experience in international commercial law
- Familiarity with UNCITRAL work and specialised knowledge of UNCITRAL texts on electronic commerce
- Fluency in English and French with excellent drafting and communication skills
