Overview
UNICEF Venezuela is seeking a Chief Education to lead strategic planning and delivery of the country's education programme, strengthening national education systems and improving access to quality, inclusive education. Responsibilities
- Establish the education section's annual plan, priorities and targets and monitor progress
- Provide technical and operational support for education data, strategic policy and implementation plans
- Monitor and evaluate education programme results and resolve bottlenecks
- Advise government, NGO and UN partners on education strategies and policy
- Build strategic partnerships with governments, UN agencies, donors and NGOs
- Lead fundraising efforts and represent UNICEF in inter-agency education discussions
- Introduce innovative practices and lead capacity-building initiatives
Requirements
- Advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in Education, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Development Studies, Anthropology or related field
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in education programme planning, management and/or research at the international level, including experience in developing and emergency country contexts, especially Latin America
- Experience supervising teams
