Overview

Responsibilities

  • Establish the education section's annual plan, priorities and targets and monitor progress
  • Provide technical and operational support for education data, strategic policy and implementation plans
  • Monitor and evaluate education programme results and resolve bottlenecks
  • Advise government, NGO and UN partners on education strategies and policy
  • Build strategic partnerships with governments, UN agencies, donors and NGOs
  • Lead fundraising efforts and represent UNICEF in inter-agency education discussions
  • Introduce innovative practices and lead capacity-building initiatives

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in Education, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Development Studies, Anthropology or related field
  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience in education programme planning, management and/or research at the international level, including experience in developing and emergency country contexts, especially Latin America
  • Experience supervising teams
