Chief Child Protection

Leads UNICEF Pacific child protection programming across strategy, programme management, partnerships and technical support to strengthen protective systems and deliver results for children across Pacific island countries.

Department: Child Protection Section

• Lead and manage all stages of child protection programmes and projects
• Develop strategic plans and programme formulations for protective environments
• Manage programme implementation, monitoring and quality control of results
• Provide advisory services and technical support to governments and partners
• Build advocacy, networking and partnerships for child protection outcomes
• Lead innovation, knowledge management and capacity building
• Manage the child protection section and plans of action

• Advanced university degree in international law, psychology, international development, human rights, sociology, social science, justice or a related field
• At least ten years of international professional experience in child protection, including managerial experience
• Experience in development or humanitarian settings
• Previous child protection experience in Small Island Developing States or the Asia-Pacific region
• Experience in donor relationships, resource mobilisation and complex grant management
• Fluency in English

• Contract duration: 24 months
• This is an elevated child safeguarding risk role
