Child Protection Consultant to Support Parenting for Violence Prevention Programming

Supports UNICEF child protection and social behaviour change teams with technical assistance, guidance and knowledge products for parenting interventions that prevent violence against children and strengthen protective family systems.

Department: Child Protection Section

• Provide technical assistance to country offices on parenting and child protection programming
• Support development and review of strategic, policy and programme frameworks
• Document good practices and develop technical guidance materials
• Strengthen practical SBC resources for adaptation across contexts
• Support communities of practice and knowledge management
• Contribute to global and regional guidance and cross-country learning

• Advanced university degree in Child Protection, Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, Sociology, International Development, Education, Social and Behaviour Change or a related social science
• Minimum eight years of progressively responsible experience in child protection, violence prevention, parenting support, social and behaviour change or related fields
• Experience providing technical assistance on parenting or child protection programme design, implementation, review and scale-up
• Fluency in written and spoken English

• Contract duration: 12.5 months
