AVRR Project Assistant

Supports AVRR outreach and counselling in Italy's Sicily region, helping migrants access return assistance while coordinating referrals, documentation and stakeholder engagement.

• Build contacts with local stakeholders working on migrants and migration management
• Provide AVRR information sessions and tailored counselling to third-country nationals
• Submit AVRR applications through the Ministry of Interior online system
• Maintain case documentation and files for potential returnees
• Support migrants with AVRR applications and travel-document processes
• Coordinate with police headquarters, immigration offices and prefectures
• Assist transport arrangements for medical and non-medical cases
• Compile statistical reporting, migrant profiling and beneficiary stories

• University degree in a relevant field with two years of professional experience, or high school diploma with four years of professional experience
• At least two years of working experience in the migration sector
• Experience providing direct assistance to migrant populations, including people in vulnerable situations
• Experience dealing with Italian institutions at central and local level, civil society and diaspora groups
• Fluency in Italian and English

• Position is based in the Sicily Region
• Appointment is subject to funding confirmation, medical fitness, accreditation, residency or visa requirements and security clearances
• Selection may be used for similar positions for 24 months
