Area Education Officer

Directs education delivery across an UNRWA area in the West Bank, supervising school leaders and specialist teams, monitoring teaching quality and school performance, safeguarding learning environments, coordinating support for students and managing staff, premises, equipment and supplies.

Department: Education Programme, West Bank Field Office

• Direct delivery of quality basic education across schools in the assigned area
• Supervise school principals, deputies, education specialists and support personnel
• Set performance goals and oversee development and training for school leadership
• Monitor teaching quality, school performance and safe learning environments
• Coordinate remedial teaching, psychosocial support, medical referrals and special-needs services
• Build relationships with communities, authorities and partner organisations
• Manage education staff, students, premises, equipment and supplies

• Advanced university degree in education or a subject taught in UNRWA schools
• At least seven years of teaching or instructional experience, including three years as a principal or in an administrative and supervisory role
• Valid driving licence
• English at UN Level II
• Arabic at UN Level III
• Residence in the West Bank or Jerusalem and authorisation to work at the duty station
