Job Description

Process IMF archival records in Washington, DC by appraising, arranging and describing collections, then entering accurate catalogue metadata. The fixed-term officer works with the Archives Team Lead to preserve institutional memory, apply archival standards and improve access under the Open Archives Policy

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Appraise records and remove extraneous documentation
  • Arrange and describe records using archival standards
  • Assess conditions and identify records for preservation or digitization
  • Enter and review catalogue metadata for accuracy and consistency

Role Requirements

  • Advanced degree in archives, records, documents or library and information sciences
  • At least 4 years processing archival collections
  • Experience with archival standards and electronic records management

Desired Criteria

  • Knowledge of digitization and preservation practices
  • Familiarity with international archives standards
