User Interface and User Experience Designer

Redesigns a Drupal portal for IOM’s Displacement Tracking Matrix, assessing usability and content discovery, defining information architecture and responsive user journeys, designing accessible faceted search and reusable components, building a design system and handing developer-ready specifications to the technical team.

Department: Displacement Tracking Matrix

• Review the Drupal portal’s structure, templates, navigation and search experience
• Consult users, editors, developers and product owners to identify needs and pain points
• Design information architecture, user journeys and wireframes for key templates
• Create accessible responsive interfaces and reusable Drupal-compatible components
• Design faceted search, filtering, sorting, result and empty-state interactions
• Produce high-fidelity prototypes and a reusable design system
• Prepare developer-ready specifications, assets, annotations and component states
• Review implemented pages and provide feedback before final acceptance

• Bachelor’s degree in interaction design, user-experience design, graphic design, human-computer interaction, computer science, digital media, web design, information architecture or a related field
• At least five years of professional user-interface and user-experience design experience
• Experience designing Drupal websites, portals or digital platforms
• Experience designing faceted search, advanced filtering or data-discovery interfaces
• Experience preparing developer-ready design handover packages
• Fluency in English
