Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the WHO rehabilitation and disability team and visiting consultants
- Provide technical support to develop and strengthen rehabilitation services for key stakeholders
- Strengthen specialized and non-specialized rehabilitation pathways for patients with traumatic and other injuries
- Support rehabilitation service mapping, gap analysis and referral pathway improvement
- Coordinate provision of essential equipment and assistive technology with logistics and procurement teams
- Develop project proposals, implementation plans and monitoring and evaluation plans
- Support disability inclusion coordination with OPDs, NGOs, UN agencies and national stakeholders
- Represent WHO in technical meetings, seminars and academic events on disability and rehabilitation
Requirements
- Advanced university degree at master level in rehabilitation, public health, medicine or a related field
- At least seven years of international experience planning, implementing, managing and evaluating disability and rehabilitation programmes
- Practical experience implementing or advising health or government institutions, NGOs or similar actors on rehabilitation and assistive technology in lower- and middle-income countries
- Expert knowledge of English is required

- Temporary appointment under Staff Rule 420.4 for six months
- Annual base salary starts at USD 86,027 plus post adjustment and benefits
- Written test or asynchronous video assessment may be used for screening

- WHO contract confirmation may require medical clearance and vaccination evidence
