Overview

Administers the full civilian employment lifecycle for NATO’s NISRF, leading recruitment, contracts, payroll, performance, employee relations and training processes while advising managers on policy, disciplinary matters, benefits and workforce development.

Responsibilities

  • Manage employment contracts, confirmations, reassignments and terminations
  • Lead recruitment from vacancy identification through candidate appointment
  • Oversee payroll execution for administered civilian personnel
  • Administer privileges, immunities, allowances and employment statements
  • Manage complaints, disciplinary procedures and remedial measures
  • Operate performance-management and staff-evaluation programmes
  • Mediate grievances and advise supervisors and employees
  • Develop annual and ad hoc civilian training plans
  • Manage invalidity and long-term-illness processes with medical advisers
  • Propose civilian workforce policies and deputise for the HR manager

Requirements

  • Higher secondary education with vocational training in human resources, business administration, law, social sciences or public administration and three years of experience, or secondary education with advanced vocational training and five years
  • At least four years of HR experience, including one year in a supervisory role
  • Experience managing the complete employment-contract lifecycle
  • Experience managing recruitment from vacancy identification to appointment
  • Experience administering performance-management systems
  • Professional English proficiency at NATO SLP 3333
  • Host-nation Italian language capability
  • NATO-member-country nationality and eligibility for security and medical clearance

  • Three-year definite-duration appointment with possible conversion to indefinite duration. The role may deploy on military operations or exercises for more than 30 days and up to 183 days in a 547-day period.
