Senior Programme Associate

Leads technical and organizational follow-up for WFP Senegal projects reducing post-harvest cereal losses and improving food quality, while building producer and partner capacity across Kaolack and other intervention regions.

Department: Programme Resilience

• Plan and monitor project activities to ensure timely and effective implementation
• Develop context-appropriate technical solutions for reducing post-harvest cereal losses
• Implement improved cereal processing, storage, conservation and transport practices
• Ensure millet, fortified rice and other promoted foods meet applicable safety and quality standards
• Build WFP and partner capacity in food safety and food quality
• Produce monthly, quarterly and annual technical and financial reports
• Coordinate implementing partners, technical teams, local stakeholders and beneficiaries
• Document and disseminate good practices and lessons learned
• Advise WFP, government institutions and partners on local food production and processing

• University degree at Bac+4 level or higher in agronomy, agri-food studies, food science and technology, rural economics, project management or a related discipline
• At least five years of professional experience monitoring and evaluating agri-food projects and programmes, including post-harvest loss management
• Ability to design, implement and evaluate locally appropriate solutions that meet agricultural product quality standards
• Strong knowledge of food technologies, post-harvest losses, cereal quality, conservation and processing
• Strong technical and financial report writing and stakeholder communication skills
• Availability for frequent travel within Kaolack, Fatick and Tambacounda

• Six-month Special Service Agreement
• Based at WFP's Kaolack sub-office with regular travel to Kaolack, Fatick and Tambacounda
