Senior Mediation Advisor

Provides strategic and technical mediation expertise for a Track 1.5 dialogue process in Lebanon, supporting dialogue design, high-level facilitation, political analysis and gender-responsive peacebuilding outputs.

• Advise the UN Women Representative on the design, positioning and implementation of the Track 1.5 dialogue process
• Lead dialogue architecture and methodology including objectives, sequencing, thematic priorities and facilitation approaches
• Conduct political and stakeholder analysis to identify risks, opportunities and entry points for dialogue
• Facilitate and moderate high-level dialogue sessions and retreats using conflict-sensitive and gender-responsive approaches
• Prepare dialogue strategies, concept notes, facilitation plans, briefing notes, analytical briefs, outcome documents and final reports
• Draft and review substantive knowledge products in English and Arabic
• Advise on engagement with political actors, national institutions, civil society representatives and international partners
• Capture lessons learned, emerging trends and good practices to inform future dialogue, mediation and peacebuilding initiatives

• Master's degree in social science, peace studies, business or a related degree, or a first-level university degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
• At least 10 years of progressively responsible national or international experience in international affairs and conflict resolution
• Experience engaging different tracks of dialogue across the Middle East
• Experience facilitating high-level political dialogue
• Experience using computers and office software packages including MS Word and Excel
• Fluency in English and Arabic

• This is a home-based consultancy
• No travel is required
• Consultant reports directly to the UN Women Representative
• Selected candidate will undergo reference and background checks
