Senior Field Security Officer

Leads field security risk management for UNRWA personnel, premises and operations in Lebanon. The role advises senior management, strengthens risk mitigation, coordinates with security partners and manages field security systems and staff.

Department: Field Security Risk Management

• Advise field leadership on security risk management, crisis readiness and frontline staff security
• Lead security risk assessments and recommend prevention and mitigation strategies
• Develop and update security, contingency, emergency and evacuation plans
• Coordinate security training, briefings and capacity-building for staff
• Oversee office security assessments, premises protection, drills and preparedness measures
• Liaise with UNDSS, host government security agencies, UN, NGO and diplomatic security counterparts
• Manage the Field Security Risk Management section, assets, budget and donor reporting
• Ensure security incidents are reported, analysed and entered into the security incident system

• Advanced university degree in risk management, military or police intelligence, international relations or related area, or first-level degree with 2 additional years of relevant experience
• Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible relevant experience in security analysis and risk management with UNSMS or an international organisation
• At least 2 continuous years of relevant international experience outside UNRWA and outside the candidate country, unless already serving as international staff in the UN common system
• Progressively responsible field or country-level experience in moderate to high-risk security environments within UNSMS, international organisation or INGO security management
• English is required

• 1-year contract with possibility of extension
• Travel throughout UNRWA five fields of operation may be required
• A roster may be created from the selection exercise
