Sea Cucumber Specialist

Provides FAO technical expertise on Pacific sea cucumber fisheries and CITES implementation, supporting legal acquisition and non-detriment findings, regional collaboration, sustainable fisheries management and project documentation.

• Develop and implement a workplan aligned with the service provider
• Provide specialized technical inputs on sea cucumber fisheries and CITES implementation
• Facilitate regional knowledge exchange among FAO, SPREP, SPC, Pacific CITES Parties and partners
• Support collaboration between fisheries authorities and CITES authorities
• Prepare mission reports and relevant documentation
• Perform other project implementation duties as required

• Advanced university degree in fisheries or related discipline, or bachelor’s degree plus two additional years of relevant experience
• At least five years of relevant experience in small-scale fisheries or closely related fields
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, writing and critical analysis skills
