Radiographer

The radiographer produces and quality-assures chest X-ray images for IOM health assessments, applying radiographic standards, radiation-protection procedures and digital imaging workflows for migrants and refugees.

Department: Radiology Unit

• Take quality chest X-ray images in line with IOM and international radiographic standards
• Explain X-ray procedures, prepare equipment and rooms, verify identity and label images correctly
• Apply radiographic techniques and radiation protection procedures during examinations
• Process digital images, review image quality and report urgent information to medical staff
• Support quality assurance in the Radiology Unit and train staff involved in chest X-ray taking
• Maintain radiation safety for applicants, staff and the public
• Check X-ray equipment performance and coordinate maintenance or repair when needed
• Optimise radiology workflow, procedures, identification and data-entry quality
• Prepare worklists, barcodes, statistics and operational records
• Coordinate chest X-ray reading workflow with radiologists and teleradiology centres

• Bachelor degree in radiologic technology from an accredited academic institution
• Valid licence to practise radiography, if applicable
• Three years of working experience in radiography, especially chest X-ray
• Knowledge and experience of radiographic techniques, radiographic procedures, radiologic safety and quality management processes
• Knowledge of digital machines, radiology information systems and picture archiving and communication systems
• Good written and spoken English communication skills
