Overview

The volunteer supports UNEP's growing environmental portfolio in Uzbekistan, especially work on sand and dust storms, air pollution and nature-based solutions. The role coordinates implementation, contributes technical research and supports national partners and project communications.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day implementation and coordination of UNEP projects and activities in Uzbekistan
  • Follow up with partners and consultants on activity progress and deliverables
  • Provide research, analysis and technical inputs on air pollution, sand and dust storms and nature-based solutions
  • Contribute to project documents, concept notes, briefings, presentations, reports and knowledge products
  • Organise meetings, consultations, workshops, trainings and project events
  • Support communication and coordination with national counterparts and development partners
  • Prepare communication and visibility materials, including web content, event summaries and photo documentation
  • Monitor environmental policy and institutional developments in Uzbekistan

Requirements

  • Background in global development, sustainability, environmental protection, ecology, international relations, business management or another related field
  • Experience in project coordination, implementation support or administration of environmental, sustainable-development or other relevant projects
  • Experience in research, analysis and drafting reports, briefing notes, presentations and other written materials
  • Experience organising and coordinating meetings, workshops, trainings and multi-stakeholder events
  • Good knowledge of key environmental issues in Uzbekistan
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, email and online meeting platforms
