Overview

Supports planning, monitoring, HACT, humanitarian response and Basic Human Needs programming in Southern Afghanistan, strengthening evidence-based planning, programme monitoring, capacity building and coordination at sub-national level.

Responsibilities

  • Support and facilitate planning and monitoring functions for the country programme
  • Develop well-prioritised planning and monitoring activities with the country office and national partners
  • Collect and disseminate quality programme monitoring information with partners
  • Build results-based management and evidence-based planning and monitoring capacity among staff and national partners
  • Coordinate and network with wider UNICEF planning and monitoring developments
  • Support emergency and nexus programming focused on humanitarian response and basic human needs
  • Supervise two staff members

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in social sciences, statistics, planning development or planning
  • Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible relevant professional work experience at national or sub-national level in programme planning, implementation, monitoring or budget monitoring
  • Field work experience
  • At least one instance of exposure to emergency programming, including preparedness planning
  • Fluency in English and the national languages of the duty station, Pashto and Dari
