National WASH Consultant-Water Supply and Capacity Building Expert (Nationals only - office based with travel)

Provides technical support to UNICEF Bangladesh and DPHE for priority rural piped water supply systems in arsenic and salinity-affected areas. The consultancy focuses on water supply implementation, technical oversight and capacity building for sustainable scale-up.

• Support implementation of priority surface-water-based piped water supply systems in Chapainawabganj and Khulna districts
• Provide technical oversight for rural piped water supply schemes in climate-vulnerable and arsenic-affected areas
• Strengthen DPHE capacity in planning, design, implementation and sustainable operation of surface water supply systems
• Transfer technical knowledge and improve systems and processes for future scale-up
• Support establishment of standards and practices for context-appropriate, climate-resilient water supply models
• Advise on construction supervision, water quality management, chlorination and community-based management of piped systems

• Master's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, hydrogeology, water chemistry or another technical field
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in WASH-related programme management, particularly planning, monitoring, data management and reporting
• At least 5 years of experience in rural water supply implementation in Bangladesh
• Good communication skills in Bangla and English
• Proven experience in construction supervision of water systems, water quality management and chlorination, and community-based management of piped systems
• Expertise in the design and management of large water supply projects

• Office-based assignment with travel
