Responsibilities
- Review the existing research outline and conceptual framework
- Prepare an inception report with methodology, tools, work plan and data collection team profile
- Identify research locations with high rates of international migration and child marriage
- Recruit, train and supervise field data collectors
- Lead key informant interviews and focus group discussions with target groups
- Oversee ethical data collection with married adolescents and on sensitive topics
- Lead transcription and qualitative data analysis using thematic, content and narrative techniques
- Prepare draft and final research reports, a presentation and a complete dataset
Requirements
- Advanced university degree, Master's or PhD, in Social Sciences, Anthropology, Gender Studies, Development Studies, Migration Studies or a related field
- At least 10 years of professional experience leading and conducting qualitative social research
- Demonstrable expertise and strong publication record in migration or gender dynamics including child marriage and gender-based violence
- Proven experience managing research teams, including training and supervising data collectors in the field
- Extensive experience with qualitative data analysis techniques and qualitative analysis software
- Strong understanding of and proven commitment to research ethics when working with vulnerable populations and minors
- Fluency in English and Bengali
