Humanitarian Action and Gender Consultant

UN Women's Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific is expanding a roster of international retainer consultants to provide on-call technical support in humanitarian action, disaster risk reduction, localization, and Gender in Humanitarian Action. Consultants support programming, coordination, research and assessments, and capacity development across the region's country and multi-country offices, with assignments issued via individual work orders.

Department: Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific

• Support design, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of gender-responsive humanitarian, DRR, and localization initiatives
• Contribute to programme documents, concept notes, funding proposals, and technical guidance
• Support UN Women's engagement in regional humanitarian coordination platforms and Gender in Humanitarian Action Working Groups
• Conduct humanitarian research, assessments (RGAs, PDNAs), and data analysis on gender-specific needs and vulnerabilities
• Develop training materials, toolkits, and knowledge products on Gender in Humanitarian Action and disaster risk reduction
• Facilitate capacity-building workshops and learning sessions for humanitarian actors and partners
• Document lessons learned and support knowledge-sharing across countries in the region

• Master's degree in Gender and Development, Humanitarian Action, Disaster Risk Reduction, International Development, Social Sciences, Public Policy, Development Studies, or related field required; a first-level university degree with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu
• Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in humanitarian action, disaster risk reduction, resilience-building, or localization integrating gender equality required
• Technical experience in humanitarian action, disaster risk reduction, Gender in Humanitarian Action, localization, or related thematic areas required

• International retainer contract; no guaranteed minimum volume of work, assignments issued via individual work orders
• Home-based consultancy with possible travel within Asia-Pacific region as required, arranged by UN Women
