Head of Operations 1

Supports the Head of Delegation in managing ICRC Brussels strategy, humanitarian diplomacy, policy objectives, external relations, planning and team leadership.

• Advise the Head of Delegation on national and regional political and humanitarian analysis
• Contribute to delegation strategies, operational priorities, action plans, budgets and reporting
• Coordinate and supervise policy and protection objectives with other delegations as required
• Maintain networks with authorities, the Movement, diplomatic actors, donors and other stakeholders
• Promote international humanitarian law and ICRC public communication
• Represent ICRC with external stakeholders and in key forums
• Manage teams dealing with policy, diplomacy and other programmes
• Act as Head of Delegation during the Head of Delegation absence

• University degree or equivalent
• Fluency in English and French, both oral and written
• Computer proficiency
• 12-15 years of relevant professional experience
• Confirmed experience in humanitarian diplomacy and policy, ideally in multilateral settings
• Confirmed experience leading and managing multidisciplinary and multicultural teams
• Authorisation to work in Belgium is required

• Annual salary around EUR 120,000 depending on experience
• Open-ended contract under Belgian legislation
• Working rate is 100%
• Starting date is as soon as possible
