Finance Senior Officer

Support UNOPS global portfolios remotely by planning and monitoring budgets, reviewing financial statements, grants, inventory and payments, reconciling expenditures, forecasting cash flow, enforcing controls and accounting standards, coordinating audits and training project teams on finance systems.

Department: Finance Unit, Global Portfolios Office

• Plan portfolio finances and monitor forecasts, targets and delivery
• Review budgets, financial statements and donor reports
• Oversee grant and inventory accounting lifecycles
• Validate payments, advances, vouchers and supporting documentation
• Reconcile expenditures, bank activity, receivables and VAT accounts
• Investigate financial exceptions and correct ERP data issues
• Coordinate audits, recommendations and project financial closure
• Train project teams on finance policies, procedures and systems

• Advanced degree in finance, accounting, business administration or a related field, or a first degree plus two additional years of relevant experience
• Professional accounting or audit certification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, ACA, CIMA or CIA
• At least two years of relevant accounting, budgeting, financial-reporting and audit experience
• Knowledge of finance for global or regional multi-donor, multi-partner and multi-country programmes
• Experience supporting project audits and European Commission verifications
• Fluent English
