Responsibilities

  • Mobilise community forestry groups and residents to participate in project activities
  • Support formation and registration of Community Forestry Associations and draft their constitutions
  • Facilitate consultations, learning exchanges, meetings and participatory training
  • Conduct mangrove and resource-user assessments and maintain environmental and governance records
  • Coordinate township authorities, village leaders and other stakeholders for timely implementation
  • Document meetings, training, assessments and community feedback in reports and case studies
  • Apply IUCN environmental, social, health, safety and cultural-sensitivity safeguards in field operations
  • Support township-level integrated mangrove-management planning

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in forestry, environmental science, rural development or a related field
  • At least three years of experience in community-based natural-resource management or rural development
  • Familiarity with participatory training and community mobilisation practices
  • Fluency in local language
  • Ability to work independently and travel regularly to project sites
