Overview
Develops trade and environmental-goods data products for UNCTAD, combining statistical analysis, dashboards and secure AI-enabled knowledge workflows to preserve SMEP evidence, improve policy and donor reporting, strengthen datasets and shape follow-on sustainable-trade initiatives.

Responsibilities
- Produce dashboards, evidence packs and knowledge products that consolidate SMEP results and legacy impact
- Develop trade-monitor dashboards for environmental goods, oceans products and sustainable materials
- Compile, clean and analyse trade, tariff, market and non-tariff-measure data
- Build and document environmental goods and services datasets with UNCTAD statistical teams
- Provide data analysis and evidence for proposed GEF-9 sustainable-materials and seaweed initiatives
- Extract cross-portfolio lessons and policy recommendations from SMEP reports and monitoring evidence
- Prototype secure local language-model workflows for document analysis, drafting and quality control
- Prepare donor updates, funding concepts, presentations and technical briefs on trade and environment
Requirements
- Advanced university degree in economics, international trade, statistics, data science, environmental sciences, sustainable development, public policy, business or a related field, or a first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
- At least three years of progressively responsible experience in international trade, data analysis, data visualisation, financial statistics or a related field
- Experience with AI-enabled knowledge workflows, local language models, retrieval-augmented generation, natural-language data interfaces or responsible AI prototyping
- Fluency in oral and written English
