Responsibilities

  • Drive authorised personnel and transport general cargo safely
  • Deliver parcels and documents between offices and institutions
  • Make minor purchases and collect urgent goods from local suppliers or customs
  • Meet official personnel at the airport and support protocol needs
  • Maintain assigned vehicles, check fuel, oil, water, tyres, brakes and tools, and arrange repairs
  • Log fuel consumption and maintenance and take required steps after accidents
  • Support data collection, information materials, presentations and reports when assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid national driver licence
  • At least two years of progressively responsible experience as a driver with a safe driving record
  • Experience driving a variety of vehicle makes and models, including vans and other motorised vehicles
  • Knowledge of driving regulations, rules and laws and skills in minor vehicle repair and maintenance
  • Required English at UN Level II across reading, writing, listening and speaking
  • Required Portuguese at UN Level III across reading, writing, listening and speaking
  • Authorisation to work for the United Nations in Luanda
