Driver

The Driver provides safe transport, delivery, airport reception, vehicle maintenance and office support for the UN Resident Coordinator's Office in Luanda, including data and information support when required.

• Drive authorised personnel and transport general cargo safely
• Deliver parcels and documents between offices and institutions
• Make minor purchases and collect urgent goods from local suppliers or customs
• Meet official personnel at the airport and support protocol needs
• Maintain assigned vehicles, check fuel, oil, water, tyres, brakes and tools, and arrange repairs
• Log fuel consumption and maintenance and take required steps after accidents
• Support data collection, information materials, presentations and reports when assigned

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid national driver licence
• At least two years of progressively responsible experience as a driver with a safe driving record
• Experience driving a variety of vehicle makes and models, including vans and other motorised vehicles
• Knowledge of driving regulations, rules and laws and skills in minor vehicle repair and maintenance
• Required English at UN Level II across reading, writing, listening and speaking
• Required Portuguese at UN Level III across reading, writing, listening and speaking
• Authorisation to work for the United Nations in Luanda

• Fixed-term appointment for one year with no expectancy of renewal
• Local recruitment applies; selected applicants outside the duty station are responsible for relocation expenses
• Evaluation may include a substantive assessment and competency-based interview
