Development Analyst

Supports UNDP ITM service automation by designing, developing, deploying and maintaining software applications and automation tools using modern programming, containerisation and secure development practices.

Department: Service Automation Engineering Unit

• Design, develop, test and deploy production-grade applications using Rust, Node.js and Python
• Build cloud-ready containerised applications using Docker and microservices principles
• Integrate automation and AI-driven tools with UNDP enterprise IT systems
• Apply secure coding practices and optimise applications for performance and maintainability
• Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve issues across applications and automation systems
• Translate user feedback and operational requirements into iterative improvements
• Collaborate with IT, data and business stakeholders on end-to-end digital solutions
• Prepare technical reports, user guides, architecture artefacts and system documentation

• Advanced university degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or a first-level university degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
• Two years of relevant experience with a master's degree, or four years with a bachelor's degree
• Relevant experience in software development, automation or related areas
• Proven experience in Rust, Node.js and Python programming languages
• Hands-on experience with Docker containerisation technology
• Software development lifecycle, version control and CI/CD pipeline experience
• Fluency in English
