Database Officer

Provides technical and methodological support to IOM Displacement Tracking Matrix operations, ensuring data quality, managing information products and dashboards, training staff and partners, and coordinating responsible data use with humanitarian stakeholders.

Department: Humanitarian Response Unit

• Provide technical and methodological support for DTM operations
• Perform data quality control and consistency checks across the data cycle
• Compile information elements for standardised DTM reports
• Develop knowledge repositories and automated data processing and visualisation workflows
• Train DTM staff, enumerators and partners on data standards and responsible data use
• Coordinate DTM information products including reports, datasets, maps and dashboards
• Collaborate with authorities, UN agencies, NGOs and coordination clusters on DTM data issues
• Apply IOM data protection principles across data management and dissemination

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or Statistics, Data Visualization, Economics or a related field with two years of relevant professional experience, or bachelor's degree in those fields with four years of relevant professional experience
• Experience in information management, data management and production of information products
• Strong knowledge of mobile data collection tools and Kobo Toolbox data structure
• Fluency in English and French required

• Recommended candidates may remain eligible for similar positions for up to 24 months
• Internationally recruited professional staff are required to be mobile
• Appointment is subject to medical, security, accreditation, residency and visa clearances
