Overview

The consultant will connect Tanzania’s electronic disease-surveillance platform with meteorological and environmental data, design and test interoperable workflows and a prototype early-warning system, train users, and prepare a practical roadmap for national scale-up.

Responsibilities

  • Assess existing disease-surveillance, meteorological and environmental data systems
  • Define interoperability architecture, data workflows and exchange requirements
  • Develop and test a prototype climate-sensitive disease early-warning solution
  • Consult health, meteorological and technical stakeholders through interviews and workshops
  • Train national users and document operational procedures for the integrated system
  • Prepare a costed roadmap for sustainable national scale-up

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in health informatics, information systems, public health, epidemiology, environmental health, climate science, computer science or a related field
  • At least seven years of relevant professional experience
  • Demonstrated experience with IDSR, DHIS2 or comparable health-information platforms
  • Demonstrated experience integrating climate and health data
  • Fluency in English
