Nurse

Delivers clinical nursing care within the MINURSO Medical Unit in Laayoune, including patient assessment, emergency response, medical evacuations, diagnostic testing and immunization programmes. Reports to the Chief Medical Officer and participates in the mission's emergency medical services roster.

Department: Medical Unit

• Participate in daily clinical operations of the mission Medical Unit at MHQ and team sites
• Perform clinical assessment of patients and facilitate referrals as needed
• Respond to emergency calls and assist Medical Officers in providing care
• Escort patients on medical evacuation and provide emergency care during transport
• Perform diagnostic and screening tests including ECG and laboratory work
• Review immunization status and administer vaccinations
• Prepare medical statistics and enter patient information into the medical database

• High school diploma required plus a nursing diploma or formal nursing education/training, such as registered Professional Nurse designation or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of continuous clinical nursing experience or as first respondent in remote environments
• Certificates in CPR, Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support or equivalent required
