Communications Officer

Leads communications and engagement support for WFP Yemen, translating operational information into clear messages for communities, staff, partners, authorities, donors and media while strengthening visibility, accountability and donor confidence.

• Develop and update a communications workplan aligned with Yemen Country Office priorities and corporate standards
• Plan and implement communications and engagement initiatives for communities, staff, partners, donors, media and other audiences
• Produce key messages, web stories, press lines, social media content, factsheets, visibility products and donor-facing materials
• Support community engagement and two-way feedback through field teams, cooperating partners and feedback mechanisms
• Maintain relationships with local and international media, journalists, fixers, influencers and information platforms
• Monitor traditional media, social media and online narratives for trends, misinformation, reputational risks and engagement opportunities
• Build communications capacity for staff, field teams and partners through guidance, tools, templates and training

• Advanced university degree in journalism, international relations, public relations, communications or another relevant field with at least five years of related work experience and/or training or courses
• First university degree with additional years of related work experience
• Fluency in English

• CST II consultancy supervised by the Head of Partnerships and Communications in the Communications unit
