Responsibilities

  • Study the UNICEF AI strategy and prepare a presentation for partners
  • Research GCC country priorities on AI with and for children
  • Support country-specific models for UNICEF engagement on AI through partnership and programme approaches
  • Suggest models for engaging young people in AI discourse
  • Contribute evidence on AI governance, convening and child rights advocacy
  • Support thinking on child-centred AI pilots, scaling and resource mobilisation

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or graduated within the past two years from an undergraduate, graduate or Ph.D. degree programme, preferably in international development
  • Exposure to political and ethical discussions about AI and expressed interest in AI
  • Proficiency in at least one UNICEF working language, English, French or Spanish, and fluency in the working language of the office of assignment
  • Strong academic performance shown by recent university or institution records
  • No immediate relatives working in any UNICEF office and no relatives in the intern's reporting line
  • At least 18 years old
