Responsibilities

  • Lead Language Services and Document Services strategy, workload distribution and quality standards
  • Drive digital transformation from full translation to AI-assisted revision workflows across official languages
  • Implement translation revision protocols, quality metrics, terminology rules and workflow automation
  • Prepare and manage budgets, technology subscriptions, external contracts, training and cost-benefit analyses
  • Lead and develop multidisciplinary language teams and manage performance against quality and technology objectives
  • Represent Language Services in digital transformation initiatives and international forums
  • Oversee archive and document management policy implementation and digital documentation transformation

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in Translation, Linguistics, International Relations, Information Management or a closely related field
  • At least eight years of progressive experience in language services in an international organization or equivalent multilingual environment
  • At least three years in a managerial or leadership role overseeing translation teams or language technology initiatives
  • Track record implementing AI, machine translation and CAT tools in government or international organization contexts
  • Experience managing terminology governance, translation memory standardisation, document management, archival systems or records lifecycle processes
  • Fluency in English

  • Proficiency in a second INTERPOL working language, Arabic, French or Spanish

Additional Info

  • Fixed-term contract for 36 months
  • Basic security screening is required
  • Extension is subject to Staff Manual terms, satisfactory performance and funding availability
  • Tests and interviews are expected approximately three to four weeks after the application deadline
  • Selected candidates are expected to report for duty within two to three months of an offer
